chicken and gravy recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Season the Chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Cook the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Make the Gravy:
    • In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
    • Stir in the flour and cook for about 2 minutes until it turns a light golden color.
    • Slowly add the chicken broth while whisking continuously to avoid lumps.
    • Simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the gravy thickens.
    • Stir in the heavy cream and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  4. Serve: Place the chicken breasts on a plate and spoon the creamy gravy over the top. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Enjoy with mashed potatoes or vegetables!
